Modern Dining

It felt like my painting skills is downgrading again.  Main reason is because of my busy schedule.  The disadvantage of accepting too many freelancing jobs is that I tend to become stagnant when it comes to my skill development.  On the other hand, if I do spend more and more time practicing I get to earn less.  It is quite a challenge for me to maintain a well-balanced scheduling.

When I do freelance.  Most of the time, I'm only thinking of finishing the job because most clients put pressure on the turnaround...  This is okay with me and this is a great opportunity to boost my earnings...:)  But sometimes, I just feel the need to practice or perhaps I just missed doing an illustration for myself.

Now I decided to spend a little "painting for myself" time again just to recall how it use to feel.  So to start, I have painted somewhat a modern dining for 20 minutes just for fun...:)

Book Covers Set 2

I haven't had the chance to create a few illustrations of my own.  What I do have is another set of book covers that I did just recently for a few books that I had completed...

Another Set of Character Sketches

Busy...busy...busy...as always...  I intentionally created these character sketches before my new project without being asked so as to keep some of my illustrations for myself...

Book Covers

As you've noticed I haven't been able to update this blog for quite some time.  I've been busy once again.  Taking on freelancing works is sometimes too unpredictable.  There were times when I get to relax and have some fun with my family and there were moments when I just have to concentrate on working continuously especially when I had over committed to a deadline.  I could summarize the experience as enjoyable but tedious...:)

Please allow me to share some book covers of a few stories that I had finished recently.  These will be out in the market soon...

Fixing a Bat

I did a little fixing on that sketch of Batman that I did a while back.  This made me realize that the best way to correct a wrongly drawn arm is to h--- it...:)

I added some colors as well and WALAH!!...  It's done...

Robin Williams

I had been watching late Mr. Williams movies since my childhood days.  We were still using those huge box-typed television.  I was one of his avid viewers and this sketch is dedicated to this great artist...

The Warrior King

I consider the lions as my favorite animal because of their warrior spirit and their aggressive personality.

So I played around with this new character of a lion with some sort of blade with him.

Pencil Sketches

I found a cool pencil brush at google today and made a couple of sketches before jumping to work.

If you want to try this one try to search "pencil brush photoshop" at google.com and the first thing to appear would be "Andatonious Pencil Brush".  Download it and have fun!

Face Doodle

A 10 minute face doodle...

Somehow it's a little harder to do pencil effects digitally.  So I might consider using a real pencil in the future...

Freelance Projects

It's Labor Day!  I thought I might share some products of my hard labor with my freelancing... :)

Mask Man

It's already the last day of the month.  Didn't do much with my blog so I decided to find some cool images in google that I could somehow use as reference for a painting.

I didn't totally copy it because I always find it more interesting to create my own version...:)

This one took me 2 hours at least and I almost fell to sleep because of the boring process of painting.  Somehow, I'm still satisfied with the final output and I hope you like it!
